OSNA Fall Conference
Dates: October 14
Topic: Trauma Informed Care

Trauma Informed Care is a way of thinking which involves understanding, recognizing and responding to the effects of all type of trauma.

As school nurses we are educated and experienced in recognizing the symptoms exhibited by children who have endured adverse childhood experiences.

Trauma informed care is the model being increasingly adopted by mental and physical health providers across the country.  In order to be at the table and involved in the national discussion, we need to not only have a clear understanding of what it means to be trauma informed, but also be able to document we have received such training.  This will help you to be more effective in helping your students be successful emotionally, physically, and academically now and in their future endeavors.  That is why we need you to come to the OSNA Fall Conference on Friday Oct. 14th at Randall Children's Hospital at Legacy Emanuel Hospital.  See the attached flyer for registration information.
