Vice President: Donna Burr

I am Donna Burr and I have been a school nurse for over 30 years. I am also an Emergency Medicine Nursing Supervisor, working in an “on-call” basis for a large Health Care Plan in Portland, Oregon. I also have done this for over 30 years also. I worked part time as a school nurse and an ER nurse when my children were very young and just starting school so I could care for my 2 daughters. It worked out so well that I just continued doing it. Prior to school nursing I was a Nursing Supervisor for one of the two hospitals in Vancouver, WA. I was also a charge nurse in Pediatrics which gave me my love for working with children.

My husband travels the world in his job and if he goes somewhere in the summer I try to go too. I love to travel. If travel could be incorporated in school nursing it would make it an ideal job.
The SNOW Board is a wonderful group of dedicated school nurses and I am very proud to have been a member for over 10 years. In my roles as Area Representative; Chairperson, Public Relations; Vice-President; and President, my practice of school nursing has grown and continues to grow.
