After thoughtful consideration, NASN made the decision to transition its annual conference into a virtual format. While we were looking forward to seeing and connecting with everyone in Las Vegas, we know that the decision to pursue a virtual format was the right one.
Unfortunately, because the conference will be virtual, the Endowment Fundraising Committee will be unable to hold our usual fundraising events such as “Satchels and Purses for Nurses”, 50/50 Raffle, as well as the 5K Run/Walk. The good news is that our annual scarf sale will still take place! The beautiful scarves are $26.50 (including shipping and handling) and can be purchased online through the NASN Virtual Conference Bookstore. All proceeds go to the NASN Endowment Fund.
We would like to like to ask affiliates to donate to https://my.nasn.org/donate-now for President Laurie Combe’s “Double Down for Data” challenge. Now, more than ever, research and data are crucial to defining student health and the practice of school nursing. The NASN Endowment funds research projects and grants that align with NASN research priorities, as well as scholarships that support school nurse educational advancement. Please see the attached sheet, if you would prefer to donate to “Double Down for Data” via check.
We realize that many affiliates have had to cancel or postpone your state conferences which are, in many cases, the main source of your annual income. We do not want to put a financial burden on any affiliate organizations, so we ask that you donate what your affiliate can afford and if you don’t feel that the budget will allow a donation, we understand completely.
We hope that all of you remain safe and healthy and we can’t wait until we are all together again for NASN 2021 in Austin!!
